Trans or torque converter slip?

I've got about 25,000 miles on a trans from a "nation wide rebuilder" and for the whole time I've had what I call a slip and the "rebuilder" calls an electronic unlock. I've had the apps problem before and added a DTT filter that took care of it. I've also had the computer flashed for the stray voltage spikes. Last week I had the TPS sensor replaced on a job in Norfolk. I had the "rebuilder" send me to one of their prefered installers who checked it all out electronically, replaced the tps, charged me $$$ and said its good to go. After I picked it up I went to the job and picked up a 2000# flat bed bumper pull trailer and took it back and showed them the 150-200 rpm slip I've seen. They agreed. It was late Friday and I had to be back in Panama City Monday so that was the end of testing. The "rebuilder" wanted to go into pressure testing, but my time would not allow it. All of this was reported to "rebuilders" warranty dept by the prefered installer.

I've seen other similar post here and at DTT.

I have about 200 rpm that I can float the tack at by feathering the throttle at speeds above 55, locked without unlocking or down shifting. Just by loading the truck and pulling a grade I can move the tack a full marker without any noticable speed change. I feel those rpms are wasted creating heat and shortening the life of my trans.

What do you guys think? Anyone with similar symptons? Anyone had this and got it fixed?

It doesn't sound to me like your converter is locked up - how are you monitoring that?

I would wire in a lock-up switch you could test whats going on plus it would be nice for those down hill trips loaded a little engine braking.

From your signature, you have a banks power pack, but also a stock rebuild from a nationwide rebuilder. The Banks kit is likely adding to much power for your stock auto, and after 25K,its finally slipping.A trans go skift kit may be able to save it,if you havent slipped it too long. unhook the banks fuelling box,I think it is a pump wire tap,and try to slip it stock, see what happens. You can't expect a stock rebuild to hold up to a turned up engine for very long.

By "nationwide rebuilder" my guess is Aamco had their hands in it, which doesn't lend much confidence to the reliability of your set-up either (in general)
