the transmission oil cooler on the side of the block. where do the oil lines go to.

 

That is the heat exchanger, the lines on the bottom of the exchanger are from the transmission. Rear most line is the "hot line" coming from the tranny (threads into transmission just near the 1-2 band adjustment torx bolt). The other line runs to behind the kickdown cable I believe, but I could be wrong..been awhile since I've been under there.

Agree 100%. If you tow you will smoke your tranny faster than you can imagine and you need to be careful even under normal conditions if you drive hard without a lockup switch for your converter. Again JMHO but there is also some experience from others I know that have done this.
