Trans loses pressure from sitting
When I go to use my truck after sitting 2-3 days, the transmission usually requires 10 seconds or so in gear before it finally kicks in. This used to only happen after about a week of sitting but it seems that it shouldn't be happening after only two or so days. Does anyone else experience this? Could it just be low on fluid, or something more?

Normal no big deal. You ask is it low on fluid????How can anyone know unless you check it. So yes low fluid would not help but for the most part sitting 2 or 3 days will have a slow engagement. More like 2 or 3 seconds.

Try putting it in neutral immediately after start, wait a few seconds, then try. Probably just the check valve failed, Tourqueflites don't move fluid in park, so if the TC has drained back, you have to refill. At least in Neut, no clutches or bands are trying to engage.

HTS built mine to do this by removing the check valve. He said that he's seen the valve fail and fry the tranny. Probably no big deal but check the fluid anyway.

yep..just about every morning..like the others..put in neutral and wait a few seconds..then drive. mine's not low on fluid..
so start the truck. put your foot on the brake..put in neutral..fasten the seat belt..switch to drive and away you go..the longer its sits the longer you might need to wait..
I think this waiting is a good thing anyway..in neutral the tranny fluids are pumped around..getting everything lubed for work.
