Trans Flush

I need to flush the ATF our of my buddys 01 Cummins Auto, I want to know if I should put Mopar ATF +4 in or go with Mopar ATF+3. The +3 is getting pretty scarce, but I have read it has less friction modifiers and everything in the trans will "grab" better. I only want to go with mopar fluid cause I work at a dodge dealer and I can get it fairly easily.

ATF+4 is what is recommended and its what most run.

I didn't think Dodge even sold +3 anymore.

ATF +4 is what is recommended. Heck it even says it on the dip stick. ATF +4 meets or exceeds the specs for +3.

Stay with ATF+4.
I know DTT's tranmissions use ATF +3 a few years ago, anyways, when I spoke with Stefan.

yeah, +3 is really hard to get, if fact, I think we only have like a 2 and a half gallons left here, the only reason I asked is cause somewhere I read that +3 will make the trans last longer cause everything will slip less cause of less friction modifiers.

Atf +4

If you live near a Wal-Mart you can get genuine Mopar fluid for 4.42 per quart.

I put Valvoline ATF+4 in my new tranny about a month ago. Napa had it on sale for a dollar cheaper than anywhere else. I think it was like 3.4X a quart.
