Tranny Temp Gauge install help
I have an autometer Tranny temp gauge that I am moving from my, F150 auto tranny, to my new/used 2002 Ram2500 auto tranny. It is an electric sensor gauge and I want to install it in the "service port" above the pan. As I look at the tanny on the passanger side, above the pan there are 2 ports. One is ~ 1 inch above the pan to the front of the tranny, and the other is ~ 3 inches above the pan in the middle (pass side). There is a 3rd port on the rear of the tranny (far right side) above the pan. Can someone tell me which port is best for this sensor.
I understand that some like to put it in the line before the cooler on the output line of the tranny. Thanks, Bill

From what I have been told neither one of those ports will give you the correct temp.
The best way to do this is replace the hot side tranny line with one that has the port already welded into it. This only came out in 94-95 but will work on your truck.
I order them from the dodge dealer in Farmington New Mexico....Let me know if you need the part number...
