have a 99 3500 4x4 . i want to flush tranny 148,00 miles. i bought it used and dont know the service history. Should i or just change fluid and filter?

ok, went to three tranny shops and got three different answers. 1, dont do anything since i dont know history and band adjustment does no good. 2, do the flush and filter change cant have a tranny to clean and if it is going to have a problem better to have it happen where it can get fixed( i kinda agree with this one) 3, just change fluid and filter

 

Like you said you dont know the history so pull the pan change the filter and adjust the bands.

 

I took mine in to the dodge dealer a few months ago, told them to service the tranny and adjust the bands, and they were like "Bands? What bands?". Good luck with that one bud. Hope your dealer is smarter than this one.
