tranny acting up
hello all. i appologize if this has been covered before. i tried looking in older posts but couldnt find anythind about it. here goes: the other day i was cruising along at 60mph when i felt the tranny kick out of o.d. then i had to push the accel pedal to the floor to get it to kick into passing gear and shift back up normally. did it when i started up a slight incline in the road. truck started slowing down and like i said, had to mash the pedal before it kicked back up. so far thats the only speed it does it at. wont doit on the interstate at 70-80 mph, nor will it do it if i have some pressure on the pedal before and incline. if i dont start pressing the pedal before hand it will do it. any suggestions or solutions will be greatly appreciated. its a 2002 quad cab auto. 3:53 gears, diesel of course. 63000 miles so still under warranty. lucky me. 2nd gen. thanks in advance
Try this first.

You should also thing about some guages, at least Fuel Pressure and Exhaust temp.
Symtoms you describe could be a failing lift pump and/or injection pump.
You can retrieve the codes with the key on/off method and see if you have the dreaded 0216
Turn key to on (don't start)
Then off, then on, then off, then on leaving it on.
Codes will read out in the odometer, write them down then either post here, or check one of the sites mentioned in this post https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...threadid=71290 .
