Tps replacement

I am attempting to replace the TPS on my '98.5 ram, but I'm not exactly sure how to test the voltage when I replace it. Is there any way to test the voltage/calibrate the new sensor withought using a scanner?

Reason for replacement is that every now and then(and more often recently) I am getting a dead pedal for about 3-10 seconds followed by a check engine light which had a code for the tps sensor. Mods are DD2's, ez, boost elbow, and full DTT trans.

shouldn't have to calibrate anything on a 24 valve.

I just replaced my APPS (probably what you're replacing) and it didn't need any adjustment. Are you looking at the 12 valve section of the manual, perhaps? Have you looked up APPS in the index ... I think that might be the problem.
