tps problems
i was driving my truck on the highway and all of a sudden i got dead pedel. Scared me because i thought it was the VP. Got to a autozone and had them scan my truck. They came up the p0121 i think that was it. The scanner said it was the tps was out of range. can anybody tell me how hard it is to replace and where can i get it other than the dealer and how much
Only place I was able to find a TPS (or APPS as its known) was the dealer. And it wasn't cheap either. Tried Napa, Cummins, and another parts place I deal with, none could get it.
When you take the black cover off, there will be two adjustment screws that set the min and maximum travel, which affects the voltage. Using a multimeter, adjust the screws until it is within the spec that is on the sticker on the APPS. I'm sure someone will jump in with a more detailed explanation.
Have you tried doing a APPS reset on it yet? Doesn't take very long, and its free, so its worth a shot before spending $3-500 on a new sensor.
