Top of Fuel Tank Leaking

Top of Fuel Tank Leaking
The top of my fuel tank is leaking. It only leaks when the engine is not running and the fuel cap is on. I went yesterday and bought a new fuel cap and this afternoon when I got home there was a puddle of diesel on the ground. Does the top of the tank also have a pressure/vacuum release mechanism?

What year is it and are you in the rust belt?
Stick your hand up under there and feel the tank module lines, from the module to the hoses, see if it feels scaly. They are noted to rust out and start to leak. If it is, the cheapest way out is to put a vulcan draw straw in, alternatively you can get rebuilt modules from the dealer. They changed to plastic later in the run.
