tire spacer
I was doing a brake job on my 99 and when I pulled the right front tire off there was a spacer between the rim and the hub. It was approx. a 3/16". What was this for?? I have never seen one of these before and I have donew ALOT of brake jobs on sorts of cars.

yeah, What a PIA!! had to replace the rotors cause they were getting cracks in them. worst part was getting the studs to reset into the hubs. ended up just cranking them down and then driving a bit and cranking them down again. I think I got them all tight, have to pull a tire tomorow and double check

uh... those hubs are supposed to be non serviceable items, aka you pull them apart, you should replace them since they are a pressed together single unit.
As for the studs, usually takes right around 8 tons to press those studs in correctly, the machine shop I go to charged me $1.25/stud to press off and on the new rotors
The hub bearings are stupidly expensive.

Yes, it's supposed to be there.
It is a stop-gap, jury-rig fix for a pull-to-the-right(or left?) problem.
Rather than fix the problem right away, Dodge put spacers on the trucks that had the problem,
then delved deeper for later production years.
