tire size, gen 3 wheels
tire size, gen 3 wheels
Hello;
I picked up a set of wheels from a 2006 2500 awhile back. I put 285/70/17's on them.
All is well but I have just a slight bit of rubbing on the drivers-front tire when I make a hard left turn. Rubbing on the suspension-arm; clears the fender and liner.
I like this size and want to keep it.
My truck is a 1999, so it has one of those spacers on the RH front only. I was thinking about trying this spacer on the LH (drivers) side to see if it moves the wheel out just far enough to clear everything.
Question:
I know these spacers were put on the RH side of 1999 trucks for a pulling-issue. Do you think if I add one to the LH side I will cause any harm?
Anybody every tried this before to get a tad more clearance?
Thanks,

Most oversized tires will rub. Mine do. I just try not to crank it all the way to the left when backing up. This puts the bend of the control arm into the tread, going forward it is into the roll if you get what I mean...
