Timing
Timing
So I have what may be a dumb question. Can you advance the timing manually on a vp44 by turning it forward a tooth. Now I know it's timed electronically but I'm a big truck guy and on the big cats this can be done and it makes a huge difference in power.
You should not do this, it will set codes because the crankshaft position sensor and the pump will disagree on the timing.
To change the timing you need to get either a tuner (eg Smarty) or a box (eg Edge Comp)-
both of them will give you the option of adjusted timing and adding fuel.
