At least I think it's my throwout bearing...getting a squealing noise going down the road that goes away when I excelerate or push in the clutch, gets worse when downshifting or going down hill. My question is, how long have I got before I'm going to be stranded and what will eventually happen. I'm broke and have a 2300 mile trip coming up. Local mechanic said his squealed for 2 years before he fixed it.
Other question is re: lift pump, I want to replace mine before the trip and want to know if the campaine pump will bolt right in place of the stock l.p.? What's a good price for one? I know, I know, but I can't afford anything better right now.
I haven't posted here in a long time so don't know if my truck info shows up or not, so it's a 2001.5 H.O. 6spd., just hit 80k. No mods, original l.p. Thanks for any and all help/comments.
