I was thinking about adding a manual thottle lock cable in my truck to aid in cold weather warm up.... anybody done this before???

 

no but ive heard alot of talk about guys using a stick and putting it from the pedal to the seat...

 

yea thats what i do now hahahaha!!! getting tired of carrying a stick w me!!! haha

 

i swear officer its my cold weather idle stick...

 

haha, haven't had that problem yet lol but thats a good one!!! my back seat has enough junk in it the way it is trying to eliminate a few things!!

i've tried having the dealership flash the high idle on the ecm but anytme i do anything with my programmer i loose the high idle setting!!

 

really... read the thread i started. i had the high idle that they say is only on the 04 and up models... but i had it and ive used it with my cruise control! but had the dealer work on it, and since then it hasnt worked....! what i have now, is once its like under 20F it automatically turns itself on... but i like the other one better!

 

if you get a smarty with the revo software it will download the 3cyl high idle, but be warned once you download the update you cant uninstall it only the dealer can turn it off ... i know cause i want the 3cyl high idle gone & dealer wants $100 for labour

 

Anybody remember the thread where somebody made an electronic one with radio shack parts? I believe it was just a simple potentiometer in a box that controlled resistence to the VP. I have a buddy with one on his truck. Seemed pretty simple to do....
