Thermostat ?
What degree thermostat comes in a 2002 from the factory. I need to replace mine because the temp guage is sitting very low and the heater is not as hot as it used to be.
mine did the same thing .. could drive 26 miles at night and still not more than 1/3 way warm.. changed mine.. works great.. and heat again too! i just got whatever one from napa. for my 2001! i beleive it the same as mine
part no. 375-190 = 190degree
comes with new seal for around 23 bucks
i fixxed the price.. and double checked the part number. smae part number.. i like the 190 specially now it winter... but in the hot months im thinking of going cooler.. hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I was hopeing to find out what degree was in from the factory.. It worked great for 5 winters and summers so i would rather go with what came out of it.
My 2002 was a 192*F from factory...Still got it on the self...Why??? I don't know...
I got a new one from NAPA for about $23.59 and that includes the seal...The one listed with NAPA is a 190*F thermostat...

My 01 came with a 190 from the factory (stamped right on the thermostat), I hated it!
It gets too hot here in So. Cal. and the truck was always running hot. I replaced it with a 180 from Cummins and I love it, truck runs super cool now.

My 02 came with a 190* also. For upper michigan, I would stay with the 190*.... and ONLY a Cummins T-stat. Have heard too many horror stories with other brand names! JMO.
In this part of the country... I love the 180* T-stat. Solved all coolant overheating during 6 months of 100*+ days. I do reinstall my 190*for our 3-4 months of cooler temps (actually had the high idle kick in once... in the last 3 yrs
)
