temp. Does this sound right?
Finally got around to hooking up the trailer to my NEW '02. She seemed to pull just fine. A bit different than the '98 but still seemed good. However I did notice the temperature seemed to get a bit hotter than my 98 ever has. We were going about 65 mph and she was taching Oh about 2300 rpm (not in overdrive) the temp was around 200-210. Just past the 190 mark. Popped it into OD and the RPM's dropped to about 1900 and the temp dropped ever so slightly, not much at all. My 98 was never over the 190 mark. On the way home it was dark and a bit cooler out and the temp never went over 190 even when taching at high rpm's. Should I be concerned about the increase in temp while towing?

Thanks
thumper

No I don't think its anything to worry about. My truck will do the same on a hot day with trailer in tow, and the fan will even come on every so often, and thats at 65 to 70 mph.

The newer engines run a hotter thermostat. Being in S. Texas where it can get to 120 - I installed a cooler thermostat and I will re-install the factory when winter hits. I forget the temp range on the stats.

Nothing to worry about - it normal ;D

Thanks guys, makes me feel better.

I was thinking yeah sure the truck can pull my tiny trailer, it's just gonna overheat doing it. Hopefully I'll get more chances to pull the trailer in the near future

Thanks, you've definately put my mind at ease

Thumper
