In-Tank Fuel Pump.

Has anyone brought back their truck for warranty service for the in-tank pump not providing adequite pressure/volume?

We all know that this latest band-aid has been given pretty poor numbers, and it is well documented that low fp is certain death to the VP.

Doesn't DCs lack in fixing this problem before 100k, make them vicariously responsible for VP death after 100k? I don't believe DC is trying to fix our problem, they just have shelves of in-tank pumps for their new trucks.

Did you eliminate the fuel block?

new twist on lift pump, anybody considder the possibility of running a presurized tank setup? A few of us have on board air and a regulator should not be that hard to setup to give the tank a nice little ten psi boost, this pushing the fuel through the lift pump and to the injection pump. Would this cause problems on the return side of things? meh something to considder.........

Fuel block goes where the old lift pump was it makes use of the old fuel lines the vulcan kit will bypass it going from the metal fuel line on the frame right to the filter canister thus getting rid of 2 banjo fittings My fp went up a pound at idle but the big improvement is at WOT before erics kit I could pull it down to about 7.5 psi now it stays a 10 psi power seems smoother on WOT launchs

I sent my truck to dealer yesterday as it is approaching 100,000 mi. had him check over LP and IP. Called me later in the afternoon said LP was going south and was going to cost me almost $600.00 to replace LP with the new setup. I said isn't that covered by the warranty? He said no and got very angry when I said that it was. Had to end up calling Chrysler and as odd as this seems the lady on the other end was very nice and got the work done under warranty. She called the service manager herself and took care of this. Have not gotten the truck back yet. So I'll see how the truck does when it gets back. One thing does anyone know what is the normal pressure on these new units? The readings seem to be all over the map.

Guys, a FASS is a much better option than the intank pump.

Hey...

How about doing a holley blue back by the fuel tank and removing the stock pump? Wouldn't this be strong enough? Anyone out there with numbers on a holley blue setup?

My stock LP is getting thin again... Time to research this... I WILL NOT go to the dealer for a IN-TANK pump! That is a joke! when it fails then what I got to jack up the bed of the truck to change it myself... Not this guy!

EXACTLY....the worst thing is the new "fix", from what Ive seen, is still a peice of crap. To spend $500+ on it is nuts, when you can get a quality product like a FASS (not to mention the 4 year warranty) for the same $$ or less.

Yeah I am sure that the FASS is better, but it was done under warranty so I went with that for now. The way I look at it my truck went through 2 LPs in 100,000mi if it cuts that number back to just one in 100,000mi by that time she'll have 200,000 on her and it might just be time to trade her then. I am curious about one thing though, if those bandjos restrict the flow at the block shouldn't the pressure go up instead of down?

Depends upon where you are taking your pressure reading at. If it is right after the fuel pump, before the banjos, yes, you will show high pressure. But if you take your reading after the banjos, your fuel pressure will be low.
