Switched to Mobil 1 today.....
Well, switched to Mobil 1 today. I can't wait to meet the DC engineer that designed the location of the oil filter....he's got a smackin' comin' from me!!
Mobil 1 Truck & SUV 5W-40 is diesel rated, it's rebadged Delvac 1.
I actually like where the filter is mounted. The only problem I've ever encountered was touching the live wire post on the back of the alternator on my first oil change, but know better now. A plastic grocery or ziplock bag wrapped around the filter after it's loose, makes for a no mess removal.

Regular Mobil I is rated CF, not the latest CI-4, which is what we should use, IMHO. And it comes in 15w-50 but not 15w-40.
As stated above, Mobil I Truck & SUV is CI-4.
Interestingly, Mobil I - Racing Formula (very strong oil) has no diesel (C) rating at all.
