Strange sound while accelerating
Strange sound while accelerating
I have noticed lately a strange blowing noise while accelerating. At first it sounded as if the inside heater fan was blowing harder but it can also be heard with the windows down. It is a swoosh sound - only under load. Can not be heard while truck is standing still.
I have tightened all the bolts from turbo to intake and checked air filtr but am stumped. Ther does not seem to be a decrease in power but hard to tell - also MPG is not affected.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Check your boots

Yep, make sure you have clean socks too.
As mentioned already... check all your turbo fittings for tightness.
The large intake line fittings can work loose over time. Also the rubber boots can become cracked as well if your in a dry dusty climate.
Rich.
