Strange little Buckaroo
Strange little Buckaroo
It's happened maybe 12 times now and I'm really not sure yet if it's transmission or engine.
When starting out from a dead stop the truck will begin a little bucking routine as it shifts from 1rst to 2nd. The engine also "hunts" up and down during this time. Now, the engine bucking could be caused from the tranny shifting back and forth between 1rst and 2nd OR the Tranny could be shifting or "hunting" due to the engine surging. I'm just not sure at this point.
Changed Fluid and adjusted bands about 4K miles ago.
I know this isn't much to go on but am hoping someone recognizes this as something specific.
Thanks a Million for any help, this is really worrying me.

Mines been "hunting" between 1 & 2 ever since I bought it with 44k on it. Only does it when going about 3 or 4 mph, like in a parking lot (or my driveway). I've been told that one of the solenoids in the tranny is bad and causes that.

This sounds just like mine, very well put. I'm going to check into this.
Thanks Bearfoot2, this helps to put my mind at ease.

DRECU:
For the 2-3 shift it should be the governor solenoid.
It could also be the governor pressure sensor.
BUT- the 2-3 shiftpoint is not the one discussed above- did you check your TV cable setting?
