storing the truck

Because of various reasons i have decided to park my 2001 dodge CTD for about 2 years . I won't be camping so why use my truck now ( save it for after this 2 years).

I am putting my 1992 camry back on the road to finnish its usefull life.

What do i need to do to my CTD to keep it the same ei do i start it once in a while or not. what about the fuel in it now. etc.....

Any comments or sugestion?

Thanks

It won't hurt it to sit for two or three months at a time without any special work. I would say just take it out and burn a tank of fuel through it every few months. Change the oil twice a year. It will be a minimal cost and you'll still get the plearsure of driving it once in a while.

The worst thing for an engine is to run it for a short time and then let it sit. It needs to atleast be ran long enough to get the oil to operating temp. If you run it for 10 min every few months, condisation will fill the crank case due to the heat. If you get the oil to temp it will evaporate the large portion (and will start from zero water instead of the previous volume) of the moisture.

I am going to have to leave my truck here after June for about 3 years too. I am going to work out of the country but i should come home maybe once a year or so. It is good to know my truck will be alright.......Jamie
