Storing my truck for deployment
Storing my truck for deployment
So my question is what to do with the diesel fuel? leave it in there and if so, anyone know how long it's good for? Is there some special fuel saver stuff? Need help here guys, this is my first time having to deal with it.

thanks for the link but that article refers to large stroage tanks. will that work in mine too? the temps here in LA are rough sometimes, especialy in the summer time. Is there any fuel treatment products i can use?
And the ultimate question would be how much in the tank? full? half? alittle?

Add some fuel treatment, Powerservice, Stanadyne, fill it up drive it around for a little while. Do you have any friends or family that can drive it once a month for you? One year on the fuel does not overly concern me, it's the engine sitting for a year without running that is more a problem, (not a big problem).

If your coming back in June then you have no worries at all, just drive it when you get back. An engine that sits for long periods of time build up moister with the daily change in temps if they are not stored in temp controlled environments. You have nothing to worry about for 2-4 months at time.

Boats typically sit for long periods without use and diesel tanks develop a bacteria that lives on the interface between water and diesel. It grows and coats the inside of your tank and when it gets jostled (heavy seas) it comes loose and clogs your filter. Boat people typically treat all of their fuel.
I use BIOBORE. If you can't find it any where else try a marina store.
