Re:stink question

This seems to be a fairly common problem after oil changes because of the puke bottle on the front of your engine. You can remedy this by removing the puke bottle and running a hose from the blow by hole down underneath the motor. Do a search on "puke bottle" or "blow by" and you should get the information that you need. Also, some oils tend to stink worse than others.

ANd Rotella seems to be the worst offender. Ok, I like the smell personally... bu thats just me . I've used Delo in the past where Rotella was unavailable, and it did not smell at all. I've noticed the smell only last a couple days (max) after the oil change... or maybe I get used to it.

Re:stink question

If the stink is coming thru the A/C vents, run the A/C on the max position. It won't bring in the outside air. Do that for the first 1000 miles. After that you should not smell it. And you should only smell it when stopped. My stink shield came off
two days after I got the truck. Almost burned it up on the turbo.

Re:stink question

Mine stank when new and stinks for a while every time I change the oil. Just done my third oil and filter change and this time it only stank for two days. I am using Rotella but may change to Dello because the guy that changes my oil keeps it in stock. Even he complained about the stink. Before any of you accuse me of being too lazy to change my own oil, I did mention in a previous post that it only costs me about $7.50 for the labour if I supply the oil and filter.

Re:stink question

I do not know if this is the problem solver , but I fill up my oil filter before I install it back on the truck and I have yet to get the smell. I have used Rotella oil since the truck was new.

Barracuda,

All the Wallymarts around here sell Delo 400 15-40 as do NAPA, Schucks, AutoZone and Flying-J.
