Starts hard occasionally

I have an 01 dodge that has lately starting hard even when its warm sometimes I can go out to the truck and it will start right up other times it may have to crank a few long times before it fires off runs great oncet it starts. If I shut it off and immediately crank it, it'll start but if sometimes I wait 10 min or more it does it all over again. Its not a constant thing just sporadically happens. I have a low pressure fuel light and a new lift pump so I got good fuel pressure. Maybe bad injector of gettting air in lines I dont know. Thank you for any replies.

Have your batteries check they sound weak.

Sounds exactly like mine did. I changed the bypass check valve on injector pump and it seems to have helped. Valve is supposed to hold 14 lbs pressure in injector pump, mine held 0 lbs.

I had a similar problem. The air bleed valve on the injector pump (where the fuel line comes in from the lift pump, Looks like a tire air valve but larger) was leeking a small amount of fuel. If I started it up right away, it would fire right up, but if it was shut down for a half hour or longer i'd have to crank it over for 20 to 30 seconds to get it to fire.

It ended up being the check valve in sending unit in tank. Bought in line check valve and installed fixed problem.
