engine sputters occasionally
Hey guys, I need some help here. My truck runs fine most of the time, but occasionally sputters. If I shut it off and turn it back on it usually fixes the problem. It does seem to be doing it
more often than before. The only code it throws is po483, which is cooling fan speed. No overheating or any other problems. My oil level is just fine and no smoke to speak of. Any ideas?

My 04 has done that occasionally.
I open the waterdrain on the fuel filter and drain off some fuel.
This has always worked for me.
Please note that at no time have I had a "water in fuel" warning light come on.
Maybe just turning off then on fixed it...who knows.
I am religious about changing filters on time.
Good luck.

This sounds very similar to a problem I have with my tractor. The problem with it is that there is crud in the fuel tank and when the fuel level gets to less than half of a tank the pickup tube gets stopped up. If you cut the tractor off the crap usually falls off the strainer and it goes back to running, or if you open the drain on the water seperator it relieves the vacuum on the pick-up line letting the trash fall off. Have you put any fuel in your tank that would be questionable, such as out of an old tank or open container or even a very bad gas station?
