Starting Problems

Starting Problems

Lately my truck has been having problems starting, when i try to turn it over all i can hear is what sounds to be like the starter clicking. So im guessing i need a new starter but i was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions like maybe like a relay going bad. any suggestions would be appreciated

I don't know if you are going to have enough time to get these contacts or not. You starter contacts are on the way out.

You may get by maybe not. Sometimes the contacts weld themselves together and the starter runs untill it burns up...literally. Mine went up in flames as I don't hear well and didn't hear it running.

Do check the battery connections and starter connections first however.

Otherwise go here and get the heavy duty contacts. Auto zone has a lifetime replacement starter and I've won twice so far. haha

Yup, I agree. Sounds like the starter contacts are going bad. Do yourself a favor and follow the link above and get new contacts. There are very easy to install.

Thanks for the help guys im gonna order those contacts today. i would much rather pay the 35 bucks instead of 200

One tip of advice, dont let the studs spin, just spin the nut when taking the starter wire off. If you let the stud spin, you can damage the internal insulators.
