starting problems
I have a 200 Dodge Ram...having problems with the truck starting.....I have replaced the starter...wondering if it could be the ingnition switch. starter stuck in on position about a month ago and continued to run when switch was turned off.last week while on vacation all dash warning lights would work ,but engine would not crank.both batteries were fully charged. I kept messing with the ignition switch and engine finally cranked and started. Everything worked fine until on the way home and then abs.brake and check engine light came on while driving.I jiggled the switch and lost all guages, tach and speedometer. Pulled into rest area and opened drivers door and all guages came back on.Abs light brake light and check engine light remained on though. Also when guages were off odeometer read no buss. I checked for codes and p1694 came up.Does anyone know what this is? Wondered if switch stuck and ruined starter? Maybe contacts in switch are not properly ligning up part of the time. I disconnected battery cables and code cleared. All guages and lights are fine now, butt I still don't trust the truck.I would appreciate any thoughts. Thank you. rutdog Sand Springs OK.
