Starter contacts?

Lately I have been having some starting concerns. The starter was replaced perhaps 30,000 km ago. Lots of starts on it as I have a short work commute. Sometimes it starts (turns over) as normal, other times it seems to turn over slowly. When I replaced the starter, it was doing the click click start.... I am sure it was the contacts, but I just replaced the starter. I suspect this also is the contacts? Batteries are only 2 years old and check out OK. Thoughts?
Thanks
Alan

I would remove and clean the battery terminals first before changing the starter solenoid contacts.

You probably made the right move by replacing the starter. I had the exact slow start issue and almost stranded @ the border. Yes, also clean and check the terminals as any loose connection could cause tranny shifting issues amongst tons of other things.

There's an improved set of starter contacts available. I think they are around 35 bucks. Look up LarryB's at www.fostertruck.com.

The starters themselves hardly ever fail. You can get the heavy duty contacts and plunger from Larry B's and be on the road in no time.
