squealing when I drive my truck
I need help. I have a 1999 Dodge ram 2500 5.9 liter cummins turbo diesel and I have a squealing in the front end of my truck. I have just recently replace the alternator because it was bad. Now I have this squealing that when I drive it gets louder. I replace the belt tensioner and fan clutch and the cerpentine belt also. The engine is sound and runs great but I just can not figure out what this is. I am at my wits end. Is there anyone who might now what this could be?
intercooler boot leak maybe?? do a search for "boost leak tester" there are pic of how to make one to test all your connections. mine made a racket as I hit 20psi, turns out it was leaking under the pass side battery, all it took was a couple turns on the band clamp to make it hold.
try squirting water on the belt to see if the squeel goes away, if it does its the belt (even new belts will make noise)
