I recently put some 315s on the truck and the speedo and odometer are out of whack. If I have the speedo recalibrated will this fix the odometer too. This is more important to me being accurate rather than the knowing what speed I am going.

 

It would help to know what year truck you have. Typically fixing the speedometer will fix the odometer as well. How you fix it will depend on your truck. I'm not familiar enough with the 12 valve to help you out. If you have a 24 valve you'll have to make your adjustments with the computer. Either through dealer or programmer. Fill out your signature and you'll probably get better response.

Can this be done without the smarty vin locking?

 

The changes will need to be made through the computer. Many of the performance programmers can do this. Superlift sells a correction box but some wiring is necessary. Hypertech sells a programmer that will adjust for tire size that can later be upgraded to a full programmer via download. Or you can try a dealership. (My local dealership refused to correct mine so results may vary). If you've got the money and want performance, I'd go with the smarty.

Homrwrecker is correct. Tire size changes can be corrected without VIN locking. VIN locking only applies to performance tuning.
