Soap Box about vp44,lp,etc

I know everyone with the dead peddle gremlin has been thinking it so I'm gonna say it, WHY THE Sam Hill doesn't Dodge just come right out and say hey you guys here's why your truck does what it does, here's the fix, please don't tell me they have because I've read way too many posts where guys have had lift pumps, inj pumps, and bell crank assembly(AKA $500+ tps) changed out, only for the problem to return, lift pumps lasting 1000 miles? come on , inj pumps lasting 20,000 miles? sad. The only threads I've seen where anything worked for an acceptable amount of time has been aftermarket fixes, for a 30,000+ vehicle this is unbelievable, I want to trade mine in for a newer dodge but I would be sticking it to someone else and getting another Dodge product that might have some terminal disease down the road, with the Doctors (mechanics) telling me you have cancer.......uhhh no it's chicken pox......noooo.....wait a minute you have strep, I have buddies with Fords and Chevys and you know what when the dealer says hey you need a water pump, you know what, they do, and it fixes their problem. I'm not bashing Dodge trucks I love mine and want to keep it but jeez......sorry guys that was long but I don't understand why it's not easy, pricey I can take, but when I pay it better work.later

i feel your pain. I think if I had to pick another truck i would give the duramax a try. I have had two dodge diesels now, the first one was an 89 cummins and i still drive it everyday, 310,000 miles. That made me get the second one for a tow truck for the racecar trailer. It only has 48,000 miles and the dead pedal gets on my nerves. I guess it was too much to ask for two good trucks!

no, it didn't help the dead pedal. I have great pressure now and i am glad i did it, since the other lp had low pressure. I still haven't swapped over just the electronics from my other vp 44. I had an oil pump pickup come off my racecar so i spent all week checking my engine and seeing if anything got messed up (i lucked up and everything checked out good). I need to get back to the truck now. I sucks towing with something knowing it could possibly take a dump on you!
