SO vp44

I have a few questions about the SO vp44 pump first how are these pump holding out for u guys and what does the so stand for also anyone give me a part number and tell me were the best place to get one and about how much they run we have an 02 2500 2wd auto truck truck is bone stock with a straight pipe we would like to do a few up grades just a tuner of some sort in the future a j hook nothing to wild just a little added power and help would be great thanks a lot Joe

Your truck has a SO (std. output 235 hp) on it. the HO (high output 245 hp) pump is on the 01-02 6 speed trucks. There around 1000 bucks exchange. Best bang for the but could be a used edge EZ 65 hp chip for 150 - 200 bucks.

Thanks a lot new the diesel world and learning as i go. So there is a cummins dealer not to far from me if i buy the pump from them will it be the newest upgraded pump. I ask because i see some people talking on here about newer style pump with better parts in them thanks a lot

you can buy them from certified bosch rebuilders... midwest fuel injection comes to mind for about $1k

I just got a vp44 from MWFI along with a F.A.S.S lift pump for 16 hundred clams.. So far so good. I haven't installed the FASS yet though..

Just about any pump you get these days should have the upgraded electronics in it.
