Slipping Clutch?
Driving home from the mountain today, warm truck (diving for about two hours), about 40 degrees outside, cruising along at 70 or so, dry roads, smooth as silk. Came up to a T intersection and there was a hay truck heading towards me so I pulled out and got on the throttle so he would not have to slow down. At the upper end of the shift, about 2500 (I generally shift at about 2000 to 2100), It felt as though my clutch was slipping. Had lots of power starting off, just seemed as though things let loose at the top end. I could hear it in the engine also, sounded kinda like the engine let up and didn't have to work as hard. Never happened again as long as I shifted at 2000 or 2100. I could pass other cars okay and had good acceleration at 70 MPH up to 85 or 90 while in 6th gear. I have never noticed this before.
I replaced my clutch about 15k miles ago, truck is pretty much stock. All new fluids w/ about 2k on them. Not sure if you guys need any more info, or if I am just being over cautious.
