Towing, now clutch is slipping
I'm hauling an 11ft 6in. tall truck camper and towing a 7000lb trailer. The truck is an '01.5 HO 6 spd with only an EZ box on it.
Yesterday, when coming home from a trip into a pretty good headwind, almost every time when upshifting 6th gear the clutch would slip until I backed out of it.
Looks like I need a new $$$ clutch
For you guys that tow, what clutch do you recommend?
Surely, not the stock DC clutch?

I just installed a South Bend CON-OFE in my truck over the weekend. Cost just over a grand with new flywheel bolts, and resurfacing the flywheel. Best money I ever spent. I know it seems high, but I'd recommend it to anyone, and I think you'll see that the South Bend clutches are by far the preference for high performance and towing applications.. I took everyone on this board's advice, and now I'm giving the same advice I recieved. Its really the only way to go.

I have to agree with a SouthBend. Installed my CON OFE about a month ago and love it. It's actually amazing how much power I "wasn't" putting to the ground.
It's a few bucks but worth every penny!!

I to installed an SB CON OFE about 2 weeks ago, and I love it. I am going to give it the first test this weekend as I am going out to west Texas with a trailer and can't wait to see how much better it pulls the hills out around Big Bend. Like others have said it seems a bit high but you won't regret it after you get it.

Thanks guys!
Called SBC and talked with Andy.
Ordered a CON OFE, as now with a decent clutch I'm wanting to add Mach 1.5 nozzles in the near future...Beating hard on the 'ol credit card!
