Smile A shock question with a twist

Hello to all,

I have been doing some research on shocks and noticed that some shocks are listed as "Excluded for 8800 GVWR" and "Not for Snow prep package". Is this listed because of the length of the shock? Or is it from a "stronger" shock? Thanks for any input!!

Rob

I could be wrong, but it might have to do with the valving of the shock and possibly the length.

The 8800 lb, I believe, is the 3/4 ton vs 1 ton, so it would need a lighter shock valving, in theory.
The snow plow kit, I believe allows for the heavy weight of a plow, vs stock. There may be shocks for this special application.
My guess, anyway!

My truck has 8800 GVWR printed on the sticker in the door jam. I don't know if it is an equipment option or year thing, but that is where I found it on my truck.

I think the 8800 is due to the CTD -v- gas engine. Not 100% sure though. Mine is 8800 also, and I ordered it new.
