Setting Timing on CTD??
Setting Timing on CTD??
Can this be done? Setting or adjusting timing or checking timing at least?
Can I do this myself or need a computer?
I want to know if my timing is set right. I have a truck that has a reman VP and I got it like that and but I'm not sure the timing is 100%.
Can someone explain or let me know how or what to do?
I tried looking up info on this but no luck!
Thks T

OK computer controlled but can it be adjusted or checked?
When the VP was installed was timing supposed to be set? How can I verify the VP was set up right or is there only one wAy? THks!

I don't think you can set up the VP wrong(timing wise) The VP slides into the timing gear, and lines up using a key-way. This key-way makes sure that the VP is in timing with the engine...so there is no way of messing that up.
And for adjusting the timing through the computer, I'm thinking the only way is to buy a programmer that adjusts it its self. I don't think you can flash the ECM and adjust your timing. BUT I COULD BE WRONG
