Setting Engine RPM
Setting Engine RPM
Hey Everyone i was wondering if there was a way to set the engine Rpm by setting the cruise control on. If there was a box out there or like if someone new how to jump a wire to fake it out.. Thanks in advance Francis
Not with cruise. Your output shaft on the tranny has to be turning somewhere around 25 mph for cruise to work. You can get aftermarket boxeds to do this, like a Bully Dog, etc that have high idle features, but they tend to void warranties.
Yea i know that but i was wondering in like a tractor trailer you can push the crusie control on and set the engine to run at at whatever you set ur accel to with in sitting there.. the PTO doesnt have to be engaged... So i know its seperate from that. I was wondering if anyone knew of a wire to fake out or a jump some kind of sensor to make think its moving... I want to be able to go some what higher then a high idle computer re-flash of 1000RPM's
Thanks Francis
Thanks Francis
i used a relay and a potintiometer, and tapped into my apps harness....i have the potintiometer set at 1250 rpms, now when i want high idle, i flip a switch i installed in my dash and she goes idles right up to 1250...
So i could use a switch, a relay, and a potentiometer.. but is there anyway that someone knows to maybe fake out the speed sensor maybe jump the sensor so that i could just use the stock crusie control swtich? I thinking if i can do away with whatever signals the cruise to work after 25 it would work.
