retorque head or not?

All new to this. Recently replaced the head gasket on my 1999 3500. It has a new engine with only 8500 miles when it started leaking. I was told I needed to of re torqued the head after 5000 miles. Never heard of that. So should I re torque and if so to what and when?

After I did mine It was suggested that I do 1 retorque after a complete warmup and cooldown and then drive light for about 500 miles (low boost only) and give it another cold retorque, which I did. No problems so far (knock on wood).
