Replacing Injection Pump

Im in the proccess of replacing my VP44, is there anything else I should be replacing or checking out while im in there? Such as the Cam Position Sensor or anything else? Also, I have read of people replacing the MAP sensor at the same time as the IP, is this needed?
Thanks

Im no expert, but Id check the LP pressure. Many people do a LP at the same time. I just did the injector pump yesterday, LP was at 16 psi at idle so I assume thats good. I have to do a MAP still, it gave a code it was bad, so thats next.

My $0.02 is, if you're not getting a code for the sensors why change it. It's not like you have to tear down the pump to get to them or anything like that plus they're expensive.

My lift pump is good, as I have a FASS pump.

Also, I agree on the not changing the sensor unless its bad, but was just curious because I have read that people change them.

Thanks for the replies

How tough is it to replace the VP? How long does it take?

It took me 2 hours to remove pump and 1 hr to reinstall it. Its really pretty easy.
