Replaced first fuel filter since running bio
The truck would not start, I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to the VP and after each attempt at starting the lift pump motor would run for about a min. it was putting just about 14lbs to the VP.
On about the fourth try it started and had good pressure at idle.
The fuel filter was not even dirty had about 3000miles on it.
Is this a sign of a soon to fail lift pump?

Did you mean that it was only hard starting immediately after your fuel filter change? Did you bump the starter to let the LP run first before attempting to crank the engine for the first time after the filter change? There will be some air in the lines that the LP will purge......if you don't do this procedure after a filter change, you will push air into the VP which will certainly cause a no start and hard starting until the VP can purge itself - which will take much longer than the LP to purge the fuel lines.
