Replace or Repair Tranny
Replace or Repair Tranny
I have over 170,000 miles on a 2002 dodge dually with an automatic 47RE tranny. I know at sometime the tranny will fail. What are my choices at that time? Replace or repair? Can someone suggest repair facilities. What can I expect to pay for repairs? What can I expect to pay for replacement?
Thanks

A very open question!!
If you find a good used one and do it your self, maybe $1000?
A top line DTT may run over $4000 . Dtt should get you down the road many many miles!
A good shop may rebuild yours and get another 150,000.

Replacing Tranny
What happens when a tranny fails? Is there incremental failure? Is there any forewarning that something is failing with the tranny? Or, does it fail all at once? You are driving down the road and then all of a sudden you stop?

You might want to give these folks a call.
In my view they are the premier trans rebuilder.
PS They are great folks to deal with too.
