Removal of plug to let air out???
Hey there guys, one more question... I posted yesterday about changing out the hoses on my 2002 ( Radiator). I completed the job, re-added coolant and started the truck and let it idle and added coolant as necessary until it wouldn't take anymore. Replaced the cap and topped off the overflow tank. I test drove it and the temo ran just below the 190 or on the 190 just like it always has..... SOmeone on another board said I had to losen a plug on the block to let the air out??? Has anyone heard of this????
After I test drove it I did notice that about 2 ounces of coolant came out the overflow.. I assume this was the last bit of air escaping? Thanks!!

I have never removed a plug to get the air out. But you may need to let the truck warm and then cool then add additional fluid.
The reason is that the coolant cannot get past the thermostat very quickly. So, afetr cooling, just check the level in the rad and then in the overflow tank. I chack it once more after that when hot, but you should be fine.
