Redline on the 24V Motor
Since I added the Smarty, Edge and straight piped the 4" exhaust I love to rev. the motor at home, smoke a bit and have some fun. I was wondering if the 24V motor will automatically de-fuel before exceeding the redline on RPMs? Or when we do the "snap test" for emmisions we are supposed to give it full throttle a few times. Can we hurt anything if we rev. the motor too high (in N of course)? Or does the rev. limiter prevent over reving the motor?
Just curious.
Thanks !

I understand the rev limiter will stop the RPM's but a stock 24v shouldn't rev any farther than 4000 RPM anyways. The only time you can override the rev limiter is coming down a hill with and allowing the RPM's to exceed the red line.

With that being said I need to get the valves done...I am at 122k now with no valve adjustment yet.
So I guess it's o.k. to rev. up to the redline sometime I guess?

Correct me if I am wrong, but won't a stock truck de-fuel and/or cut off when you hit 3200 rpm? I just had an experience last week where I got to about 3200 while in second gear and when I went to shift to 3rd and push the go pedal nothing happened. The truck had died. I pulled over, looked everything over, switched the fuel relay in the fuse block and turn the key back on and fired up. Hasn't missed a beat since. I have since switched the relays back to original position and still running fine. Do I have something else going on here? If so, I will start another post, but that is my experience.
