Rebuild your alternator

Anyone replaced their own brushes and bearings on their alternator? Do the bearings need to be pressed on? Anyone's rotor shaft needed to be replaced as well? I am going to order a kit since my truck has 122K on it. I might rebuild the alternator when I put on my new crank pulley just for maintenance reasons. When are people's alternators failing?

I don't think most start to go until around 250K give or take. I've got around 180k on my original alt.

Yea! Do not rebuild. Inspect brushes and clean slip rings if you like.
