WA4SLC

I installed the Royal Purple Max Gear 75/140. This was in the Dana 80 on the 3500. Not sure if it's right for the 70. Seems to be ok so far, not affiliated with RP in any way, just my 0.02
wk

Re:Rear-End Gear Lube

Redline ShockProof Heavy. This stuff is the mother of all gear lubes.

90 wt is spec for our trucks, but the owners manual says 140 is OK. It also recommends syn for heavy towing (the MOpar 140 is syn).

ANY syn gear oil is going to be great in your rear. Buy whatever you can get (prob amsoil)

I think the Redline is prob that best, but your talking minute differences in that price range-- any syn is WAY better than dino in that application.

Mobil 1 is also easy to find.

HOHN

I use the Amsoil Series 2000 75W-90. Have this in my differential and tow a 12K lb. 5'er about 7,000 miles a year.

Re:Rear-End Gear Lube

Thanks for all the input. I found a Mag-Hytec differential cover that a member of TDR was trying to sell for $130. I contacted him and bought that and a BHAF with mount for $35 more. I put them both on yesterday and put in Amsoil 2000 75 - 90 lube. The guy I got the Amsoil form is trying to get me to become a dealer for Amsoil. I think I might do it mostly to get the dealer price for the products and if I sell some it will be ok too.

Bill
