radiator flush question

Flushing and replacing the coolant in my 2001 2500 4x4. When I open the drain **** I only get 1/4 turn and nothing drains. (yes, I've removed the cap.) I'm not sure if it's just clogged from 144.000 miles or if it turns more than 1/4 of a turn. Any info or Ideas?

Thanks in advance
Cowboy

I believe you turn it counter clockwise 1/4 and pull back, toward the engine, it will kinda snap open. Going from memory here as I've never done mine. But read it recently.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. You're right. I syphoned out 5 gallons of coolent and caught the rest in a drip pan when I removed the lower hose. Once it was out I messed with is and it does slide out. I was shocked to see how clogged up the front of the radiator was. I let a good degreaser soak on it for about 20 minutes and then gave it a good spraying with the garden hose. Lots of crap stuck in there.

Thanks for the info,

Cowboy
