Questions about a 2001

Originally I was looking for a 12v, but thats proving impossible. I have found a very nice, very clean 2001 CTD with just over 69,000 miles on it, auto, 4x4 w/ manual transfer case. I haven't confirmed if its a 53 block yet, but that will definately get done before I buy it.

I just a few questions about making the truck 110% bullet proof.

Obviously a built trans would be in order for anyone planning on running a lot of power, which I plan on doing. What should I be looking for in an aftermarket trans. manufacturer's product? (billet shafts, etc.)

The problems with death wobble. How do I completely stop it so that I will never have to worry about it again? Would an aftermarket suspension like KORE's Chase system do it? What about a better steering stabilizer bar? (I notice KORE's is only for 2003-05 trucks, are there any other manufacturers out there?)

The fuel system. Again, what will have to be done to completely eliminate problems? FASS, etc?

Im sure there are other things that need/can be done to get the truck to my specs. If I missed something, please inform me.

Thanks,
George

Looks like you have been doing your home work about the truck now all you have do is your home work on the various products you just mentioned. Appearantly you have been reading and getting opinions, why not call the various vendors and see what you like the best. After all if there was just one best product then we would all be using the same product.

Welcome aboard.

Im pretty set on the KORE stuff. I like what I've read and it seems like a good price for a complete kit. I don't want just a cosmetic lift kit.

I was hoping for first hand experience and opinions from people who've been doing this longer then me(which at this point is practically everybody).

Let me re-emphasize the question about fixing/curing the death wobble. That is something that I don't EVER want to deal with.

I never really asked for the BEST product. I am not new to the aftermarket field and know that there are different strokes for different folks. I was simply asking the opinions from experiences people who could point me in a proper direction.

I hear you on the calling vendors thing. Most of the time that will make the difference between buying, using and TRUSTING that peice and not.

Sounds like you got it right. I would go with a full DTT billet trans and FASS and your set. Just the goodies are left and then HOLD ON! Good luck
