I now have to under go the 5th gear nut repair again,,Although it has been 5 years since I last repaired with Dodge's split nut fix. I guess it has to be done every 5 years HAHA ,168.000 miles since repair.,,. The dealership i borrowed the special tool WRENCH, 5TH GEAR LOCKNUT from has lost that tool,So I am getting ready to buy one, But was wondering if anyone out there had one they either wanted to sell or lend, I am going to order it Monday if needed,
Miller Special Tool #6743
Thanks All

You just need a good Square pin spanner wrench. Should be able to borrow one from Autozone. And a cheater pipe.

I will make sure I use a padded cheater pipe so when it slips off trying to get to that 300Ft Lbs it does not hurt to bad when it hits me in the face,,,,, hahahaha

Calling to order the $67.00 wrench now.

Thanks

I've got one running, a couple others here now. Mine was the fully splined mainshaft and lost it, I guarantee you it won't ever come loose again with this fix unless it manages to twist the 4 tabs off, not much chance of that. The only bad thing is it will only work with the 4X4 units.

I'm running one of those......so far so good. Approx 10k miles on the repair (stock shaft), with @3k miles towing an 8k trailer. No problems as yet......
