pulling rpm

pulling rpm

hey guys, my 01 5.9 24v runs very well, however when pulling a hill, if i kick it down from o/d it will only pull to 2600 rpm and stay there, will not rev any higher, ideas? it will go to govenor 3200 while sitting still tho

Welcome. You should take a moment and fill out your signature so everyone knows what truck you have and anything thats been done to it. Can really help answer some questions.

As for your truck, if you let it fall out of OD then you need to make sure you plan ahead and give it enough time to let the torque convertor re-lock. That way the TC doesnt start building tons of heat and get the tranny hot. How heavy are your towing?
